The words are not coming easily today, but it’s Tuesday, and Tuesday is the day I write to you all, and hopefully inspire, uplift, and encourage you to take action, begin, take that step, no matter how small, towards what you want. The words are not coming easily today because there is a lot going on here. I have been in my home for 24 years and I am in the process of packing everything up and moving. In that time, I have created a haven for myself. My home has been a safe space for me to create, heal, share ideas, and support, inspire, and nurture others, first as a yoga teacher and now as a Career, Resilience and Wellbeing Coach. Packing up 24 years has not been easy, but I have come across some gems (and a lot of rubbish!) in the process. One of those gems was a short script used to introduce me as a speaker at an event I spoke at some years ago. In preparation, I was asked to write a line or two about what I wanted for my future - in my career and my life. This is what I wrote: I want to
Live by the beach
Only work with people I want to work with
Only do work I enjoy and want to do
Be financially secure
Have the freedom and autonomy to create and inspire
Live and work in accordance with my personal values
Share my life with someone I love
That was 12 years ago.
Today
I am packing up to live by the beach
I only work with people I choose to
I only do work I enjoy and want to do
I am financially secure
I have the freedom and autonomy to create and inspire
I live and work in accordance with my personal values
I share my life with someone I love.
Take some time today to dream. Take some time today to begin to create your vision for your future. Think about what you really want. Think about what would make you happy, fulfilled. and at peace. Then begin to create it. One small (or big) step at a time.
You really can ‘Create the Career and Life you Want’ ™.
