Silent Yearnings: A Midlife Call to Authentic Change

There’s a tug that many women feel at midlife.
Not loud.
Not dramatic.
Just... persistent.
It often begins as restlessness.... an unease you can’t quite name.
A quiet ache under the surface of a full life.
Everything looks fine.
But something doesn’t feel quite right.
You might start to notice:
The role you’ve played for years no longer fits.
The success you’ve built doesn’t feel like it belongs to you.
You’re tired — not just physically, but soul-deep.
What you’re feeling isn’t failure.
It's a whisper.
A gentle but unwavering invitation from within whispering:
"This version of life doesn’t hold me anymore."
I call these silent yearnings.
They don’t always come with clarity, but they do come with truth.
The Power of Listening
In my coaching work, and in my own life, I’ve seen again and again how powerful it is to pause long enough to hear that whisper.
The truth rarely arrives in a shout.
It shows up in the spaces we tend to want to rush through.
In Yoga.
In the moment between meetings.
In the stillness of early morning
or a long, quiet walk.
I recently came across a photo of myself, taken 15 years ago — seated in meditation after a yoga practice.
Eyes closed.
Hands soft.
Breath steady.
And I remember the feeling.
Even then, before I had language for it.
I was listening.
Not to the noise of the world,
but to the quiet within.
That photo has become a reminder.
Of how long this work has lived in me.
Of how our truest selves are always whispering.
We just have to get still enough to hear them.
If you’re feeling it too…
Maybe you’ve been sensing it.
A quiet tug.
A subtle ache.
A feeling that you’re meant for something more real, more aligned, more you.
You’re not alone.
And you’re not lost.
You’re just being called to come home to yourself.
Take 10 minutes today.
No screens.
No pressure.
Just silence.
And ask yourself:
🌀 What is trying to rise in me right now?
And listen.
It might not be loud.
But it will be brave.
And it will be yours to hear.
🙏🏼 If this resonates…
