The Power of Pausing: Why Rest Fuels Resilience and True Success

There’s a kind of tiredness that sleep doesn’t fix.
It’s not burnout, but something quieter, more cumulative, and builds after long stretches of doing, holding, giving… even when the work is meaningful.
I found myself there last week, sitting in a hotel room and suddenly aware of how long it had been since I last… stopped.
And it made me think of all the women I work with who say the same thing:
"I didn’t realise how tired I was until I paused."
"I thought if I just kept going, it would get better."
"I didn't think I could just allow myself to stop."
The truth is we can’t sustain powerful work, big visions, or wholehearted leadership without pause.
We need moments of stillness to reclaibrate, reconnect and remember why we started in the first place.
So if you haven’t heard from me for a couple of weeks , it’s not because I’ve disappeared.
It's because I chose to listen to what my body and mind were asking for — rest.
Maybe this is your reminder too.
A pause isn’t falling behind.
It's an invitation to take a breath, rest and refocus - and to trust that after the pause, you’ll return with more energy, clarity and come back stronger.
